Edge pest is a scam....stay away!!!

This company only cares about locking you into a contract. They do not show up when scheduled and only contact you when they want to extend your contract.

STAY AWAY from them! Our rodent problem was not resolved even after having them come back. When asked why the rodent problem still exists they state they can't fix all situations but will do their best. I had to pay for the entire contract for a company that did not fix the problem.

I ended up hiring a second company who had results the second time they visited for a fraction of the cost without a contract!

There are excellent companies out there that are better and half the price without a contract. BUYER BEWARE!

HORRIBLE!

I don't know how they can remain in business!! Their practices are corrupt! I wanted one service for a specific issue. They came out and asked me to sign for acknowledgment of the service THAT DAY, but, hmmmm, my signature mysteriously didn't "take" ... so, could I sign again? Sign again? Really? What they attempt to do with that signature, is claim later that you signed a "contract" that you were never presented with, never read, and certainly never agreed to! I sent them a letter letting them know that I did not sign nor agree to a contract, that I don't want them to come out again and I have had relentless voicemails and attempted visits despite my clear attempt to stop this. I just received an email stating they are coming out again tomorrow so I called them and I was met with "well, you signed a contract, so you are liable for the remaining 3 visits". I told her to make a note that they are not to step foot on my property and I'm not paying for something I never agreed to. I'm not sure how they think they can get away with this but I'm not going to be taken advantage of by this unethical company! I will be contacting the BBB and any other resource possible. Stay away from this company!

There are so many complaints with these same issues. I had a similar issue with Edge.

I agreed to one year of service and when they asked me to sign to "acknowledge the service" after they finished the first visit, I was signing on an old iPhone 6, admittedly didn't read the small print because I should have been able to trust them not to scam me. They are getting away with this strategy in every state they operate in, apparently. I have started collecting all of the complaints online relating to nefarious contract practices and will be sharing them first with our state attorney general's office and will be exploring the possibility of a class action lawsuit against Edge Pest Control. Several years ago, Oregon moved to ban Jack Howk plumbing from operating because of similar tactics used against vulnerable consumers.

I am hoping for the same result in Oregon with Edge. I really hope potential customers of Edge will notice all of the hundreds of complaints online and not hire the company.

Dear Edge, Your employee knocking on doors in the west Wash Park area today (Sat 18 August) is not going to earn you any business and is damaging what seems to be a good brand. He was incredibly rude, pushing services after I declined the offer, ending with a “have fun with your black widows” as he was walking off my porch. All this after obnoxiously pounding on our door and ringing our doorbell simultaneously. Do yourself a favor and tell this person to pull his head in, he is way out of line.

I used to work there as a tech, and I totally agree with you. The salesmen were very very pushy and I didnt agree with their tactics, which is one of the reasons I quit.

And thank YOUR lucky stars to you didnt GO WITH them...they would have suckered you into a 2 year contract, and if you cancel before the 2 years, they will,charge your credit card the FULL amount of the contract. Stay local if you need service.

That's the only thing Terminix hasn't done to bother us ... knock on the door.

They are harder to get rid of than the bugs. Whatever you do, never sign a one-year contract with them because there is a micro hidden clause about automatic renewal annually which requires 30-day written notice to terminate.

They didn't catch me with that, but they tried to bill us 2 months early for renewal (on the 4th of July !) via last year's credit card .... this is a dirty way to conduct business !

Now - trying to cancel service. She replied to their email, which was an invalid email address. Initial response from “service” manager was rude and accusatory. We’ll see what the main office says.... stay tuned.

84 years old and sales person tricked us into signing up for $979. worth of service we did NOT want

I asked for ONE time service, the salesman gave me an ipad to sign a document I could not read, but had told him several times I only wanted ONE service. Only got a written contract AFTER I called and complained.

Of course the document did not arrive in the three day cancellation time frame. Upon contacting company they will only cancel this contract if I pay them half of the total. This is a total rip off of the elderly.

I have filed a complaint with BBB, the FTC, and the Attorney general office of consumer affairs! This sales person came unto property that is CLEARLY marked PRIVATE PROPERTY NO SOLICITING!

I spoke with Morgan, their customer relations manager and she was very kind and apologized for the conversation I had with the lady 2 days ago. They are agreeing to let me out of the contract.

We had a sales person come to our house. My husband and I both spoke with him. There was never a mention of a contract. I called to cancel today and was informed of it. I was told I didn't know about it because my husband signed it, even though I was there. I was told I received an email of the contract and I just searched through my email, and have only been emailed service receipts and no contract. I looked on our account on their website and there are only PDF's of the service receipts and no contract to be found. I tried calling the manager back and she didn't take my call. Do not sign up with this company. They will dupe you in a multi year contract and charge you 50% of the remaining contract to cancel.

I also never received a contact which they said they sent to me. Juan the sales person said I could cancel if I don 't like the service or any reason.

When I complained about the service and said I want to cancel there was no mention of the 50% cancel fee. I still dont have a contract which they said the 50% cancel fee is stated. Who would accept that? They didnt do a good job and they want to deceptively charge me over $200 to cancel??

They all told me half truths. I am retired and they take advantage of people. They did try to make it right but what they said they would do was so different than what happened I was done. They sprayed my windows I just had cleaned and said "Just a little" Really.

I tried to call them once they let me know with 3 e-mails I owed them because I canceled and Cooper was gone for the weekend. I went to the Better Business and there were so many complaints that there was a contact for the company on there, I called left a message. I have not got a call back. If someone doesnt do a good job why should I keep using them, and why dont they give you a contract?

Very deceptive. I am hurt because the sales person was so nice and he lied or someone did.

ACTION : demand a physical copy of the said signed contract ; do it in writing, serve via Certified Mail return receipt requested. Request a copy of the contract with the signature and any attachments that are allegedly part of said contract. State that you will allow 7 business days for their written response including the requested documentation.Telephone call, e-mails, and text messages are unacceptable from now on. Do not place or accept any of them.

State this. You must establish a legally admissible timeline for your attempt to discontinue the unwanted service.

Horrible company

Don't use them... The contract that you never see is different from what they tell you. Then they make you pay a early termination fee. Ours was $210. Crapy service and liars. Don't use them!!! Now we have two companies and still have spiders everywhere. I say do it yourself save your money.

An employee came to our door to sell us a service to get rid of the unwanted bees and spiders. What a great service...a company who would spray inside our home and spray areas outside of our home that are to high for us to spray, also will give us a promotional fee of $70.00, even though the cost is usually $89.99, and can give us a four sprays every 90 days instead of eight sprays..."ALL LIES!!!" I was told no paperwork needed can find information on website and call her (gave me her business card) with any questions I have about their services.

Gave her a VOIDED check for the charges we discussed. Two employees came out to spray bee hives and spiders, but they could not reach the extremely high areas for the bees like we were told. I called about two weeks after service was done because I received an email that my balance was over due. I asked why is it over due when I gave her a voided check?

She could not help me, she had me call the office. I spoke to six different employees (one a manager). The manager did not quote me any prices that was quoted to us on the 11th of May from the employee who came to my door. The manager told me that their company gives no promotions and spray services are only sold in eight sprays not four like we were told.

I also told the manager that the spray service was not completed so I want to cancel their services. Well, it came with a huge cost of $529.95, for one time spray!!! He told me $89.99, for the first and only spray and half of the eight spray services of $109.00, each that I told him I did not agree too.

I have tried to reach the manager twice since May 25th. I believe this is way to much money to pay for one incomplete spray of insects.

January, Pest Control came out and I told the tech that I no longer wanted their service. He told me I had to contact the office.

I sent a email to them and they told me I had to call their office. Now when I agreed this service was at my door with the tech, and I was told that I can have this stopped anytime. 1. why must I have to cancel with the office and not the tech when it's alright for them to take my business start up at my door.

They carry a tablet with them to start me then and there. 2. I was told I can cancel anytime, so why am I being charge to discontinuing my service, was never told there be a fee. 3.

Every service after finishing I signed which states service was treated and so

that the payment was taken care of. There charging me for a service that was not done when I told the tech no I had and wanted my service cancelled. Tech lied stating he did it when he was at my door trying to get me to let him do it and to try and get me to change my mind in keeping it. Told him no about 20 times.

He stated to his company I wasn't home another lie. They in turn took $109.99 for a service they did not do, and Another $109.00 for cancelling my service.

February I saw they took the fee of $109.00 for services they did not do and I stopped payment on it. Only to find that they went back into my account and took a double payment.

What can I do to get my money back they stole out of my account.

Call ypur bank immediately and file a reversal of charge or a claim on you credit card to have the charge reversed.,I used to work there as a tech, and it pissed me off to see them do this time and time again, which is one of the reasons I quit. If nothing else, just cancel you cc or they may continue to add charges to it.

Do not do it. They have very deceptive billing practices. The guy working the Colorado Springs area is telling customers one thing and then allowing us to sign an agreement with completely different terms.

I have attempted to cancel my "contract" with them and was told that I would have to pay a crazy amount of money to do so. Plus they came out to my house and sprayed when I was not there. The problem was inside the house and not in the yard.

Never use them. Stick with the Orkin

I received a voicemail on a Friday afternoon, that they would be coming out to service the home on Monday. The contract should have already been cancelled, and then they charged my credit card.

I was asked to sign a two year contract with 3 days to cancel while wasps were buzzing around my head. I was not happy with the service and I called on the 4th day to cancel and was charged a $468 cancellation fee. I was told they would call me back and they never did. Do not use this company, they are just out to get your money and don't seem to care about customer service. It cost me $600 to get rid of a wasps nest. It is outragous for a company to take advantage of a single mom this way. I feel violated and abused. Yes I did sign a contract, yes it was a very big mistake.

BE READY WHEN YOU WANT TO CANCLE SERVICE: AllI I wanted to do today was cancel my service. Sounds simple right. I guess they have a Hard Cancel Tactics in place. I could not believe that NO ONE was available to cancel my service by phone. They said it had to be a Supervisor and they were all in a meeting. I said go get one out of the meeting and help a customer. The person on the phone said no.. that she would put me on a list and they might be able to get back to me today but no promise.... I have NEVER had a company tell me they had to call me back later to cancel my service and that there was NO supervisor available. I mean NEVER. I own a multimillion dollar business and we WOULD NEVER do that even if a person wanted to cancel. Go get the person and do everything to try and keep the business... but for sure don't put the cancel person off to tomorrow... or even an hour. HOW WAS THE SERVICE IN MY HOME: (The Only reason I gave them 2 stars and not 1) Service over all.... it was okay. But not the best ever and techs just were not good at really knowing how to fix a prob or actually make you feel they would. Guys... you in someones personal home, make them feel secure in knowing you do know how to fix it and you will. Then call and get help from someone in your company if you don't. WHAT DID I LEARN: That I really prefer a mom & pop service when it comes to my home pest control. I want to know the tech is very capable and knows how to fix the prob now and is the same person all the time. Especially when it comes to someone coming into my home and working on it often. But that is just me.... and what I learned about myself. WILL I USE THEM AGAIN: No! Just don't like the service and style I guess. I give business to people that have top customer service and support and you know they are good at it. Also, you feel really good about the service they are doing in your home. But thats just my preference. I thought it was a good deal when i signed up... but it is not for me.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!

After more than a year and multiple visits, we still have an ant problem. They offer to come out and spray again and again but that's not the answers, clearly. When the ants are back in under a week, your product isn't working or your people aren't applying it where it needs to be. And on that note, their technicians (I use the term loosely) are very young and not thorough in their application. They're nice but don't know what they're doing and clearly just want to check the service as done and move on to the next victim. The company's cancellation policy is highway robbery. Just stay away from these people unless you want to throw your money away and still have pests. -- One VERY unhappy former customer.

I've been wondering how these people are able to claim to service my home without ever being inside and not even disturbing external spider webs. I got the answer today. After calling to say he was on the way, the 'technician' showed up, sat in his vehicle for several minutes, dragged a hose out and proceeded to spray around a couple of my next door neighbor's windows, then returned to his vehicle where he sat for a few more minutes. I called to cancel the service but was told there is a 50% cancelation fee. So I can pay several hundred dollars now for no service, or pay $119 a quarter for no service. Lose/lose. I should have looked this company up on the internet before doing business with them. Cancelation fees are no doubt their primary source of income.
